【摘要】：基督教傳入中國(guó)的歷史可謂源遠(yuǎn)流長(zhǎng),19世紀(jì),基督教特別是新教,呈現(xiàn)出許多新氣象,重新介入各項(xiàng)社會(huì)運(yùn)動(dòng),被稱為“靈性?shī)^興”(The Evangelical Revival),這就為近代來(lái)華傳教士提供了活動(dòng)背景和思想土壤。而煙臺(tái)是山東沿海一座比較重要的通商口岸城市,美麗的海濱、宜人的氣候吸引了外國(guó)傳教士。因此煙臺(tái)作為西方文明進(jìn)入山東的窗口,來(lái)煙臺(tái)的傳教士數(shù)量多,分布廣,情況復(fù)雜,影響廣泛,他們?yōu)榱藗鹘绦枰?多方面介入煙臺(tái)的社會(huì)生活,客觀上促進(jìn)了煙臺(tái)現(xiàn)代化的發(fā)展和中西文化的交流。本文通過(guò)重現(xiàn)基督教傳教士在煙臺(tái)的活動(dòng)歷史,以厘清史實(shí)、梳理線索為第一要義,分析傳教士對(duì)煙臺(tái)早期現(xiàn)代化歷程的參與程度,以及這一進(jìn)程帶來(lái)怎樣的深遠(yuǎn)影響。 1861年煙臺(tái)開埠,傳教士紛至沓來(lái),他們?cè)缙谠跓熍_(tái)的活動(dòng)就是講經(jīng)布道、傳播福音、發(fā)展教徒,雖然有教育活動(dòng),但或者是個(gè)別傳教士的副業(yè),或者是純粹宗教活動(dòng)的補(bǔ)充。洋務(wù)運(yùn)動(dòng)興起后,中國(guó)社會(huì)對(duì)西學(xué)表現(xiàn)出的興趣和熱情為傳教士活動(dòng)提供了機(jī)會(huì)。再加上傳教士們來(lái)自資本主義文化的故鄉(xiāng),因此在西學(xué)東漸的流程中,他們得以駕輕就熟,捷足先登,在教育、醫(yī)療、科技、實(shí)業(yè)等各個(gè)領(lǐng)域,紛紛充當(dāng)西方文化的橋梁。 先進(jìn)的教育理念、發(fā)達(dá)的科技、先進(jìn)的思想使煙臺(tái)社會(huì)風(fēng)氣大開,對(duì)早期現(xiàn)代化的發(fā)展起到了文化啟蒙、開拓視野、開啟民智的作用,也使煙臺(tái)在社會(huì)結(jié)構(gòu)上出現(xiàn)了教民群體和教會(huì)組織,民眾的信仰也趨向多元化,對(duì)煙臺(tái)社會(huì)變遷起到了推波助瀾的作用。 透過(guò)對(duì)基督教傳教士在煙臺(tái)活動(dòng)歷史的考察與審視,我們不能否認(rèn)這樣一個(gè)事實(shí):基督教在近代煙臺(tái)的傳播與發(fā)展確曾達(dá)到相當(dāng)大的規(guī)模與深度,
[Abstract]:The spread of Christianity in Chinese history has a long history, especially in nineteenth Century, the Christian Protestant, showing a lot of new weather, to participate in all kinds of social movement, known as the "spiritual revival" (The Evangelical Revival), which provides the background and ideas of soil for the activities of missionaries in modern china. Yantai is an important port city on the coast of Shandong, and the beautiful seaside and pleasant climate attract foreign missionaries. Therefore, Yantai as the Western civilization entered the window of Shandong, to the Yantai missionaries quantity, wide distribution, complex and extensive influence, they need to preach, many aspects of social life in Yantai, Yantai promotes the development of modernization and Western culture. By reconstructing the history of the activities of Christian missionaries in Yantai, this paper is to clarify the historical facts and sort out the clues, and analyze the participation degree of missionaries in the early modernization process of Yantai, and what far-reaching influence this process brings.
