Cultural default in Source literary works is defined as absence of relevant cultural background knowledge shared by the author and his/her intended reader. This paper exemplifies not only the objective existence of cultural default in source literary works but also several common translation techniques of compensating cultural default in source literary works.

In this article, the author tries to display the different stylistic functions of fuzzy language in literary works, such as expressions with fuzzy meanings, accuracy of meaning to fuzziness, hedges, the abnormal collocation of contradictory expressions, elliptical sentences and fuzzy paragraphs.
