麥凱納斯是奧古斯都從起家之初到元首制確立初期不可或缺的助手之一，無論在外交還是內(nèi)政方面都為其做出了重要貢獻(xiàn)。而他另一個(gè)更廣為人知的身份則是著名的文學(xué)贊助人，因?yàn)樗澲艘慌艹龅脑娙�，如維吉爾、賀拉斯等，并形成了一個(gè)以他為中心的文學(xué)團(tuán)體，現(xiàn)代西方也更多的是將“Maecenas”一詞當(dāng)作文學(xué)和藝術(shù)贊助人的代名詞。然而身為政客的麥凱納斯對文學(xué)的贊助并非簡單地出于興趣，而是有著明顯的政治目的。因此，詳細(xì)全面考察麥凱納斯的政治生涯，對我們認(rèn)識(shí)麥凱納斯贊助文學(xué)行為的實(shí)質(zhì)能有更客觀深入的了解。 在筆者所見材料中，國外學(xué)者多在研究奧古斯都或羅馬文學(xué)時(shí)兼論及麥凱納斯，較為分散。由于麥凱納斯本人政治生涯低調(diào)，終身僅為騎士，沒有任何正式官銜，也未被授予任何顯赫榮譽(yù)，因而國內(nèi)學(xué)界對他的關(guān)注較少，缺乏對他的全面介紹。筆者綜合所收集到的資料，在借鑒國外研究成果的基礎(chǔ)上，結(jié)合羅馬共和末期到帝國初期的政局，以麥凱納斯的政治生涯為主線，進(jìn)而分析他贊助文學(xué)的實(shí)質(zhì)。 本論文共分為四部分： 前言：提出論點(diǎn)，概述古典著作家及國外學(xué)者對麥凱納斯的論述。 第一章：論述麥凱納斯生活的時(shí)代背景及其生平...
